The aims and objectives is to prepare the students to be able to diagnose and manage various oral diseases that requires surgical intervention and also to manage medical emergencies that may be encountered during and after treatment in dental clinic The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery deals with the diagnosis and management of the diseases of teeth , jaw bones, Temporomandibular Joint, salivary glands and associated vital organs like eye, oropharynx, nasopharynx and major blood vessels & nerves of Head and Neck . Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is a ladder between medical and dental stream . The Department offers all kind of surgical treatments of Maxillofacial region starting from Minor Surgical Procedures like simple & Surgical extractions, cyst enucleating and surgical treatment of various pathologies as well as major procedures like treatment of fractures ,oral malignancies, gunshot wounds and pan facial trauma cases. Also included are the latest and advance procedures like Dental implants .
